Event Details
EPROM

EPROM is known for his diverse, funky and energetic sets, which cross
the lines between live remixing and manipulation of hiphop and dubstep
with his own obscenely bass-heavy neurocrunk transmissions. EPROM has
played alongside artists like Flying Lotus, The Glitch Mob, Skream,
Lazer Sword, Kode9, Mochipet, Rustie, and many others. EPROM has worked
with internationally renowned MCs and has slated multiple vinyl
releases in the coming year. DJ supporters include Starkey, Jakes,
Bassnectar, The Glitch Mob, Rustie, Megasoid, Zombie Disco Squad,
Riton, Basement Jaxx, and BBC Radio One's Mary Anne Hobbs.

R/D:

R/D is a Supervising Sound Editor, Sound Designer, Veteran
Music Producer, DJ and Label owner. He gained notoriety in the late
90’s as the Founder of the Experimental Liquor Museum (E.L.M.); a Los
Angeles based collective of DJ’s that spear-headed the local,
experimental music scene with their renowned underground Electro
parties. At their peak, E.L.M. were sharing the stage with some of the
biggest names in IDM, and R/D was lucky enough to perform along side
pioneering artists such as Plaid, Squarepusher, Luke Vibert, Prefuse
73, Nightmares on Wax, Soul Oddity and many, many more. In more than a
decade of DJing and performing live, R/D has toured the UK and EU,
played hundreds of shows in the US and hosted more than 50 music
events, one-off’s, weeklies and monthlies in Los Angeles. He’s release
music on STS9’s 1320 Records (US), Andrea Parker’s Touchin’ Bass (UK),
Colony Productions (UK) and his own label The Designed Disorder (US).
Although he is best known for his unique brand of glitched-out electro,
his current sound has completely evolved into a new brand of futuristic
funk. His music now boasts knocking, head-nodding beats with huge,
shredding bass-lines and tweaked, catchy melodies that combine to rock
crowds and tickle brains! This new manifestation has garnered an
incredible resurgence in R/D’s musical career, with gigs pouring in
throughout the US. His recent shows with Bassnectar, The Glitch Mob,
Flying Lotus, Cocoe Rosie, Les Claypool, Amon Tobin, Tipper and more
have put him on a new course, causing him to split time evenly between
his passion for Film Sound and his love of performing Music…..and it’s
a GOOD thing!
“I’ve explored the depths of experimentation
within electronic music and milked every ounce of trickery I could. I
took a break to explore sound as it works within Cinema, which
completely refreshed me, and now I’m back, with a completely different
mindset! I’m constantly in search of that new-funk! ……eager to exploit
music’s natural structures full-on; devour it’s melodies, crank on it’s
beats and thump on it’s baselines until the song is one big dance party
in itself. Basically, I just want to rock the f* out!” – R/D

Live Art:
Michael Garfield:

"Super intense and completely focused...his attention to detail
consistently raised the quality bar."
- Christopher Gaspar, playordownload.com
"Totally unique."
- Michael Travis (String Cheese Incident, Zilla, EOTO)
Reflecting his years as a scientific illustrator, Michael Garfield’s
improvised
freehand live paintings are a field guide to the beings that emerge at
the energetic nexuses of live music. Each piece grows according to an
evolving visual genome, translated from the throb of the house and the
crowd into cross-sections of fireworks and undersea faeries, closed-eye
tesselations and luminous fossils…vivid scenes of unabashed intensity,
a celebration of verdant and exultant imagery written in the natural
language of dreams.
Having only been at it for two years,
Michael has painted in a legendary range of situations – from basement
dance clubs to field concerts in front of 5000-person crowds – and
alongside internationally renowned visionary artists Alex & Allyson
Grey, Mark Henson, Kris D, J Garcia, and Mars-1. He was a featured
visual artist at the Wakarusa, Sonic Bloom, Rothbury, Global Sound
Conference, Trinumeral, Gem & Jam, Burning Man, and Rocky Mountain
Crystallization Festivals, and spends much of his free time as de facto
journalist and organizer for the growing live art community.
Check out his work, read the stories behind each painting, and connect at all the primo social networks:
